While there was a rush of actors making records (which was probably always the case, as this is the entertainment industry we're talking about), some put out well crafted records with content that genuinely touched my heart, and I would carry those tunes (or a few of them) into my coffee house act in spite of the fact that this music was not strictly speaking the arcane folke musik that was supposed to be the content of the stage. I would argue theoretically with the folkies that these tunes are the new folk music, but as they were purists, I didn't get very far with them. I figured, what's the dif? I was pleased when the McGarrigles later put out an album, of their friends, and included this song as I felt this tune made serious inroads.
This became my favorite Dot record, and I auditioned this for Frank in our living room. Frank was steeped in offerings from Dot records at my house, at least.
