Noms de Guerre
I should mention here to all avid Beefheart fans. I may know where Alex Snouffer
got the new last name "St. Clair". If you're interested. We were all (Don, Alex, and I) sitting in my parent's living room in Claremont. The local Claremont Courier newspaper had arrived, and in it was the photograph of a boy I knew at school, and they were touting his abilities in some way, he may have just graduated and was heading off to a fancy school back East. His middle name (a family name) was "St. Clair". What a curious coincidence that was! (You could check the newspaper morgue and see for yourself!)
At that period of my life, I developed a nom de guerre (or nom de plume, or simple alias or aka) myself, and I was known in certain circles (albeit small ones) as Lisa St. Mawr Rollins. This had nothing to do with anything, except it was kind of fun.
I believe my sister may have even traveled to Tahoe for one of those shows that featured Don, as I recall hearing something later from her that she didn't like the scene there.
