Heidi would lure people from the street into the supermarket, then work one aisle after another with comments indicating the circus was in town, come to the show and always mention the puppet shows and extemporize on that theme to engage the genuine interest of the person she was talking to. While walking to USAVE with her I would try to engage people another way, "Hey! Let's go see where Alan Ginsberg was when he saw Walt Whitman standing in the vegetable section of the supermarket ... maybe he's still there! Let's go see!"
